New volunteers are required to attend an orientation, which is held on a quarterly basis.
Support is needed in preparing exhibitions and screenings, researching community issues, photo editing, and a variety of administrative tasks. Some video shooting and editing may be included. We are looking for someone who can commit 16 hours minimum per week. Attendance at Saturday evening events is sometimes required. Bronx-based applicants are encouraged to apply. This is a paid internship.
Ideal candidates would have most of the following abilities:
• Writing and research skills
• Familiarity with Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Drive
• Comfortable doing on-the-ground outreach in our South Bronx community
• Comfortable shooting and editing photo and video
• Experience in gallery, museum or clerical settings encouraged
• Curriculum building
• Knowledge of Spanish is a plus
• Youth mentorship is a plus
