Join photographer Andrew Lichtenstein as he presents work from his latest book, This Short Life at the Bronx Documentary Center. From the hardscrabble coal fields of West Virginia to the borderlands of Arizona to the snow swept plains of Standing Rock, This Short Life collects the oral testimonies of twelve ordinary Americans fighting to make America a better country during the height of the Trump era.
Their personal struggles and their dreams of a different society are accompanied by Andrew Lichtenstein’s photographs, documenting a nation at a crossroads.
Following the presentation and Q&A, copies of This Short Life will be available for sale and signing.
Andrew Lichtenstein (@andrewlichtenstein) is a documentary photographer, journalist, and teacher who works on long-term stories of social concern. Over the last two decades he has concentrated on photographing stories about social justice in America. This Short Life, published by Jet Age Books (@jetagebooks), is his third book.
