A tribute to the women of the countryside, healers, and the sacred plants of Palenque, Colombia. Through photography, Toro honors Rosalina Cañates and the ancestral wisdom that connects land, body, and spirit.

About the artist:
Joana Toro is a Colombian photographer and visual storyteller based in New York and Bogotá. Her work explores identity, migration, and cultural resilience through deeply personal and human-centered narratives.
