Join us for a presentation by photographer Nelson Morales. This free gathering is part of the BDC’s Photo Community Circle, a space for photographers to learn from one another, share work, and exchange feedback.

Nelson Morales studied Communication Sciences at José Vasconcelos University of Oaxaca. Since 2008, he has worked independently as a photographer and has completed various contemporary photography education programs in Mexico. His work focuses primarily on themes of gender, the body, and sexual diversity.

He has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Canada, Portugal, Malaysia, India, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Cuba, the United States, and Mexico.

Throughout his career, he has received several national and international awards and honorable mentions. His work has been published in Aperture, The New York Times, Vogue Italia, Vice, Mexicanísimo, Enfoque Visual, TÊTU, L’Oeil de la Photographie, The British Journal of Photography, Der Greif, and many others.

He has published three photobooks: Musas Muxe, Fantastic Woman, and Born to Shine. His work is part of various public and private collections. In 2020, he received Mexico’s National System of Creators grant (FONCA).
