In Solidarity—Black Lives Matter

We hope that you and your families are taking care of yourselves in this time of trauma and unrest. The Bronx Documentary Center continues to stand by our neighbors, and our community of BIPOC photographers ranging in age from 11 to 90 years old.

Many are on the frontlines documenting this historic period in America’s history. We support you in amplifying your voices in the fight for justice and lasting social change which is at the heart of the BDC’s mission.

Here is a small round-up of resources and self-care:

• Check out “26 Ways to Be in the Struggle Beyond the Street,” a list designed to celebrate all the ways that our communities can engage in liberation, “6 Ways to Activate Beyond Social Media,” listing different ways to invest energy. You can also use ResistBot for an easy way to contact your representatives.

For those who are attending protests, please make sure you’re taking precautions to stay safe. Here’s an infographic with advice on protesting safely.
