The Bronx Senior Photo League (BSPL) is a free photography program for older adults in the Bronx. The goal of the BSPL is to develop participants' skills in photography while promoting social connection and community pride. Through weekly instruction and assignments and regular field trips to such cultural institutions as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Wave Hill, the program provides older adults challenging and valuable experiences that lead to a stronger sense of belonging and improved quality of life.
The BDC has partnered with the following Centers: Mitchell Neighborhood Senior Center, Kips Bay Castle Hill Neighborhood Senior Center, Highbridge Nelson Senior Center, and the William Hodson Senior Center.
Thanks to the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, along with City Council Members Diana Ayala, Fernando Cabrera, and Ruben Diaz, Sr., for their support. FujiFilm has generously provided equipment used in the program.
