Q: Do you remember your first real connection with photography, either an image or a camera or something else?
In the 2nd or 3rd grade, I went to a Summer Camp and one of our activities was photography. I ended up printing a photo that I took on the Brooklyn Bridge, in a darkroom.  My dad liked it, and it prompted him to take a Pentax K1000 from the school he taught at so that I could keep practicing. Although I didn’t pick up a camera again until adulthood, I still have that camera today.

Q: How has working at the BDC impacted you or your own work?
I have met many wonderful people through BDC and have formed valuable relationships. Having a welcoming place to go and speak to people with a specific shared interest has been hugely beneficial. I believe that the BDC has also had a positive impact on my work by exposing me to many great photographers through their exhibitions and incredible photo library. I've also taken several workshops with world-class photographers, which has given me a lot to think about - exposing me to different approaches towards photography.
