Meet Our New BDC Labs Coordinator

Introducing Paola Martínez Fiterre.

The BDC is excited to announce Paola Martínez Fiterre as our new BDC Films Coordinator!

Paola is a Cuban visual multimedia artist who became passionate about photography in 2009. Paola emigrated to the United States in 2017 and currently lives in West Harlem. She was the first Cuban to attend the International Center of Photography (ICP) and since then her passion for analog photography and darkroom printing became the main focus for her. Paola's work is based on self-portraits and performance art with what she wants to represent her experience as an emigrant woman and on the tireless search for "home". She believes that art has the power to connect communities and build a common collective experience, especially those of immigrants and women. She is often mentored by and works with renowned black and white photographer Brian Young and is also a lab technician for ICP's darkroom.
